Starting off with my first true obsession, I cannot but mention the amazing Harry Potter series written by J.K Rowling. Looking back at my life, I realize I spent 3 summers since I was 10 obsessing over this amazing story, re-reading each book 11 times. And I don't regret it. Because it will stay with me. Until the very end.
Roald Dahl
However, the first books that got me into reading were the wonderfully illustrated children's books by Roald Dahl. Many authors have discussed about the devious and sick mind of Dahl and how he manages to integrate the undertone of horror in innocent books for children. Definitely a must-read. Illustrated by Quentin Blake.
The Twilight Series
Possibly one of the most judged series of all time, this megapopular series written by stay-at-home mom Stephenie Meyer is about a high school girl who is beguiled by the secretive vampire Edward Cullen. Love ensues. And so does mayhem.
Robert Langdon Series
The BEST mystery novels I have ever read. Introduced to the series through the 'Da Vinci Code' movie, I have followed the series religious. Although there is a new book every 2 years, it's worth the wait. The series is about Robert Langdon who is a symbol professor teaching at Harvard university and his various adventures that he goes on. A seemingly bad idea that has been executed beautifully.
John Green
John Green is the best author for teens right now. He made me bawl with grief in Fault in Our Stars (now being made as a major motion picture), laugh in Abundance of Katherine and enjoy the perils of young love set in a frosty backdrop. And he just so happens to be a nice guy.
John Green shares a YouTube channel with his brother Hank Green. You can check out his latest video here. WARNING: His channel may cause stomach aches or breathing problems due to extreme laughter.
